1 ~ The Tree of Life

The Tree of Life is a sacred symbol. Its deep roots reach into the lower world, the unconscious, while its branches reach to the heavens, the source of destiny. To be whole in your life’s journey, it is important to have deep roots and high branches. A tall tree with shallow roots falls in the first wind, but a tree with deep roots can weather any storm.

What nutrients do you need to add to your soil to grow strong? The seed of the oak will not grow on barren ground or without the light of the sun. What dreams do you want to awaken to create a mindful destiny? Reflect on how you want to blossom, the kind of fruit you want to produce, and where you want to sow your new seeds. Be a conscious creator!

2 ~ The Curse

The Curse refers to the limiting stories of our ancestors, and the karma from former lifetimes that preordains the events of our lives. It is the source of negative patterns, and it can show up as a disease, a destructive force, or a blockage on our creative energy. The Curse holds us hostage to a false story that we confuse for reality. Recognizing the original wound that is playing out in our life can heal it.

It is time to recognize the source of your limitations. Did your grandparents live with a mindset of scarcity? Did you inherit genes for heart disease? Were you a slave or a master in a past life? This karmic legacy is ready and waiting to be seen, to be untangled, and to be released. Honor the players and their stories. Forgive everyone and everything. Craft a new life course for yourself.

3 ~ The Andean Cross

The Andean cross represents the cosmology of the shaman. It depicts the four cardinal directions, the upper and lower worlds, and the steps to reach these realms. The hole in the center is a gateway to inter dimensional travel, the proverbial eye of the needle we can all go through to experience higher states of awareness and wisdom and to break free of linear time.

The Andean Cross announces the start to a great journey. It’s time to raise your gaze from the mundane day-to-day to that which, until now, has seemed beyond your grasp. Allow new wisdom to guide you and stop trying to make sense of it all before you respond with a resounding yes.

4 ~ Standstill

When Standstill appears, it is a symbol of pausing, the act of observation, and breathing space. It represents the temporary nonaction as well as what happens when one is stuck.

When things seem to stall or when you feel stuck, this symbol appears as a reminder that constant action isn’t going to get you where you want to go. Perhaps it’s time to gather more information or just wait until the Universe makes the next move. No matter what, this moment is a beautiful gift orchestrated in your favor. Enjoy it. Let the Universe bring all the parts together for the highest good. Go and play, recharge, and take focus off whatever has stalled. Life will get busier again for you sooner than you think.

5 ~ Heart of Sky

Heart of Sky is the love force that made all of creation possible. This same force is present when you create originality, when you bring formlessness to form or inspired ideas to expression. This primeval force does not know good or bad; it is up to us to provide the clear intention that will guide it to manifest. The Heart of Sky helps us call in beauty from the invisible world— and birth it in the world of matter.

The Heart of Sky brings you a sacred reminder. You are a channel for the original energy of creation. Become the paintbrush, the canvas, and the artist, all guided by the Heart of Sky. Set your intention, ethically and clearly, and allow the universe to take care of the details.

6 ~ Taming the Wind

Here the feather, a symbol that is used in clearing ceremonies, for smudging, reminds you of a scared commitment you make to you life. This is the symbol of consciously bringing the spiritual into the material, infusing the world with reverence and an acknowledgement of the higher planes of existence that influence and animate all life. The feather is a symbolic reminder of deliberately entering to a partnership with the Great Spirit to co-create for the highest good of all.

It’s time to clear your energy, be present, and become conscious of how you communicate. This is a good time to write in a journal and put your thoughts into a cohesive form. Perhaps you need to actually do a smudging ceremony in your home or office, creating a sacred space to write about your dreams and desires. Just remember that when Taming the Wind appears as a symbol, it is time to honor the Great Spirit with reverence and respect.

7 ~ Grandmother Earth

Stop and take measure of your life. Access who you are and where you are. Get grounded. Make plans for the future, but don’t act on those plans until you are ready and feel secure in stepping forward. There is a profound source of strength and power within you, and it is expanding now. Put your roots down. This is the time of preparation and going deeper.

Grandmother Earth provides the trees, plants, flowers, rivers, streams, oceans, mountains, and valleys, and supports us all with her bounty. She’s stable and strong in her devotion to us. You are supported and loved, even if you’re not always sure of it. Strength is growing within you. Don’t rush. Slow down. The seeds that you plant now will bring you abundance in the future, but only if you take the time to nurture those new beginnings. Take time to plan your future carefully. Don’t rush into anything. Security and protection surround you. You are safe. If you’re thinking of making secure financial investments and receive this card, it’s telling you that this is a good time to do so; it’s not a time to take risks.

To deepen your connection to Grandmother Earth and bring security in all forms of your life , walk barefoot on the earth, place your hands in the earth, or make investments. Imagine the strengthening energy of the earth filling you and your life.

8 ~ Spirit Keeper of the North

Take time for contemplation. Turn within. Connect with your ancestors. Incubate ideas. Mend relationships. Watch your dreams. Meditate. The answers are inside you waiting to be heard. Stay warm. Create dreams for your future. Repair whatever is broken in your home and your life. Forgive those people and situations that you’ve been dragging around for a while.

In the medicine wheel, the north is the direction that symbolizes the darkest time of the night, the coldest part of winter, the dark of the moon. It also represents the elder time in life and even a time of endings. Pulling the Spirit Keeper of the North indicates that it’s time to take measure of your life. Explore what’s working and what’s not working. What and whom do you need to release? It’s also time to make repairs in your physical environment, as well as make repairs to your body. Additionally, this is the time to begin to dream and make plans regarding your future. Your ancestors are close at this time; call on them. They want to help you.

Stand outdoors at night, facing north. Inhale the darkness. Sink into your own depth. In the stillness, Ancient winsome emerges.

9 ~ White Buffalo

Abundance and security are flowing into your life. All things are possible. Balance and harmony prevail. You may be called upon to stand up for others, but you can do this because you have the support of many beings in the spirit realm.

In Native American traditions, there are prophecies about the coming of the White Buffalo, especially among the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota (or the “Sioux” tribe). There’s a legend that White Buffalo Calf Woman, a mystical being, came to the people a very long time ago, when they were all out of balance. She gifted the people with a sacred bundle containing the white buffalo calf pipe to help restore the balance. Upon leaving, the White Buffalo Calf Woman prophesied that she will return at the end of an age, and that she will appear as a white buffalo calf. In recent times, white buffalo calf have been born, leaving many to believe that this is the beginning of a new time. When this card chooses you, it’s an honor, for it speaks of a time of miracles and balance in all things. You are a channel for the greater forces in the universe. With their help, all is possible, But without it, things can be a struggle. Surrender to support from the Great Spirit; you do not have to do everything alone.

Shape-shift into the white buffalo, and the energy this card brings will multiply tenfold. Imagine that you can feel the power in your muscles and the fecund earth beneath your hooves. Feel the weight of your horns and the warmth of your hide. This calls the deeper energies of white buffalo into your life.

10 ~ Wounded Healer

Healing energy, vitality, and life force energy are flowing through you and to you. You are a healer, and you provide healing for others, even if you’re not conscious of it. Whatever needs healing in your life is being resolved. Your so called faults becoming your virtues. No matter what happened in your past, the past does not need to equal the future. It’s true; The cracks can be where the light enters the soul.

The wounded healer is a tradition in native cultures that asserts that some of the greatest healers are those who have gone through hardship and survived, or who have been wounded and healed. It’s believed that these individuals can provide great solace and can instigate profound healing for others. You may have been wounded in your life, Or you may have gone through challenging times, but the roots go deepest where the wind blows strongest. You are a healer in the most profound sense of the word. Healing energy is surging through you. Whatever in your life needs healing is being addressed on the inner realms. Your strength lies in the difficulties that you’ve overcome.

List each of your wounds or challenges from the past. Then next to each one, write down what came out of that situation that was off benefit. Additionally repeat again and again, “I am a healer. . . and I am healed. So be it.”

11 ~ Tracker

Focus your intent and your passion on one thing, rather than being scattered in different directions. Be single-minded in what’s truly important in your life, and let everything else go. Track the unseen (but very real) stream of energy to that which you desire.

Trackers have the ability to be so focused that everything but their goal disappears. What you see around you is the result of what you focus on. When you direct your thoughts toward good, you attract positive experiences and people into your life; but when you focus on what isn’t working, you create even more challenging situations. If you aren’t pleased with the direction of your life, concentrate on what you desire— not on what you don’t want. To develop inner power, focus intently on one thing. Being scattered in a myriad of directions dilutes your strength. Devote your attention to your family, community, career, relationships, hobbies, or anything you’re passionate about. Diminish activities that aren’t essential to your goals, and it will be just a matter of time before miracles begin to occur.

Write down how much time, on average, that you spend on different activities during the day. If there is anything nonessential (that doesn’t feed your soul), find ways to diminish it and focus on what’s truly important.

12 ~ Lightning ~Power~

The power available to you, the force of Life itself, is neutral. It is neither inherently good or bad. It is how you use it that will determine it is ultimately harmful or life giving and congruent with the will of Spirit that pulses through you. What is required is awareness of intention, your values, and your willingness to act them under the particular circumstances of your inquiry. Although to may see yourself as using this power for good, do not allow yourself to get caught up in the duality off good or bad in determining your decisions or actions. Through prayer or ceremony, you can tap into this spiritual force; and by paying close attention to Spirit’s prompting, your choice will ultimately be revealed to you, one that is beyond your typical perspective. From there, you can continue to access this Divine power that is the very force driving the universe.

13 ~ Lake -Stillness

The tempo of life these days has sped up considerably, and there seems to be no end to this quickening pace. Immersed as we are in the technological whirlpool, there seems no escape. However, there is no need to be a prisoner to the “hurry up” syndrome, nor is there a need to feel trapped by the awareness of the collective intensities that massive numbers of humans are experiencing these days. No matter if the noise is from your environment or your seemingly nonstop thinking, it is critical for you to seek stillness. Find it in your world, whether it is a special place in your home or a place in Nature that is far from human made noise. Of particular importance is finding it inside yourself, which can be made easier by being in a quiet place in a natural setting. Doing so not only relaxes your mind, but also heightens your awareness and senses.

14 ~ Rain ~ Purification ~

Purifying your mind, body, and spirit is the task that is put before you. Purify your mind by identifying a prominent belief that you carry about yourself that inhibits you from being fully engaged in life, from showing up 100 perfect of the tinme. Purify your heart by allowing yourself to breathe in and out blessings and forgiveness so that you can love even more deeply. Let yourself feel your grief— truly feel it— so that the rivers of your tears become miniature baptisms that help heal the wounds in your soul. If necessary detoxify your body (the temple and seat of soul). By changing your diet, doing a cleanse for a few days, or simply drinking more water. Increasing the daily amount of water you drink with deep appreciation for its purpose will revitalize your spirit. It is no wonder that in some indigenous languages, Water is call “lifeblood” as it is so essential to every form of Life on Earth. Take time to purify yourself.

15 ~ Cloud ~ Shapeshifting ~

In both subtle and more dramatic ways, you can shapeshift by your choice of clothing, hairstyle, adornments, and even mannerisms (such as facial expression, gestures, and the way you walk). By adjusting these along with your internal attitude, you can actually display different personas. When you experiment with these variations of self-expression that are not how you ordinarily present yourself, others will react to you, depending on the degree in which your persona contrasts with the one they are most familiar with. Be like the clouds as you try out different forms, stretching your limits at times, willing to move and adjust as necessary. Lift your head up, square your shoulders, and stand tall such that your head and heart open to the world, and note how this feels. You may feel vulnerable at first, but stay with it. Then let your shoulders fall forward slightly, pull your chest inward an inch or two, and let your head drop a little; observe how this feels. Experiment with contracting your aura (your energy field), then expand it as far as you comfortably can. By this kind of shapeshifting you can consciously choose your expression into the world. Just remember who you are at the core.

L ~ Snow Leopard

~Mystery ~ Sensitivity ~ Belief

When Snow Leopard comes to you, she brings the message that you are a very unique person with your own special ways of doing things— and that’s just how it’s suppose to be. Sometimes it’s wonderful to be with friends and those we love. When we are by ourselves, our energy grows and our dreams blossom inside us. Then when we come back together, we bring these fresh ideas with us.

Take time to find a quiet place in your home or your garden and let yourself just sit peacefully alone for a little while.
