1 ~ The Curse

The Curse refers to the limiting stories of our ancestors, and the karma from former lifetimes that preordains the events of our lives. It is the source of negative patterns, and it can show up as a disease, a destructive force, or a blockage on our creative energy. The Curse holds us hostage to a false story that we confuse for reality. Recognizing the original wound that is playing out in our life can heal it.

It is time to recognize the source of your limitations. Did your grandparents live with a mindset of scarcity? Did you inherit genes for heart disease? Were you a slave or a master in a past life? This karmic legacy is ready and waiting to be seen, to be untangled, and to be released. Honor the players and their stories. Forgive everyone and everything. Craft a new life course for yourself.

2 ~ The Arrow

Receiving this symbol reminds you that you are in alignment with your heart and soul, you are on target and will soon be hitting your mark. Be true to your calling, release attachments, and free yourself from the bondage of unbridled ambition. Now is revealed to be a moment of contact in which your intention meets the material world. The Arrow also symbolizes the need to set your creativity free.

This is a time to admit that by continuing on the path you are on, you might be shooting yourself in the foot. Could it be that you have become so attached to winning this game that you have missed the true mark? What if your arrow was never meant to land where you wanted it? Now is the time to regroup and ask yourself if what you desire is really worth your energy. This is a sign that something better is waiting. Consider the wisdom in not getting what you want. Suffering in this case is a pathway to heal the parts of you that feel unworthy, the parts that worry there isn’t enough. Make peace with those voices. What is truly yours will be waiting for you.

3 ~ The Earthkeeper

Just as you’re involved in co-creating your world, you are also responsible for its well-being. The Earthkeepers are dedicated to the stewardship of the Earth and all life. They choose to hold the sacred dream of a planet where all beings live in peace and where rivers and the air are clean. Remember that everything you do has an impact for seven generations.

As you care for your body, you show your care for Mother Earth, so begin with the stewardship of your health. What are you putting in your mouth? Are you feeding on foods and thoughts that are not good for you? Start doing what you know will be good for you today.

4 ~ The Moon

Every 28 days, the moon manifests a steady progression from darkness to light, and then back again. This phenomenon in our skies has a powerful impact on our human psyches. It offers us the certainty that after periods of emptiness and darkness, there is light waiting so we can be reborn into a new phase. The moon also has strong influence on the ebb and flow of wagers on Earth. This same power, in turn, affects human feelings and emotions and mirrors their rising from or hiding back into the unconscious.

The moon spends equal time in the dark as it does in the light of the sun and now it comes to remind you of balance. Have you been too focused on outer achievements, productivity, or social engagements? Or have you spent too much time hidden from the outer world, not wanting to interact or show your face? Meditate on the significance of the moon’s cycle, and let it gently guide you out of your bottomless depths. Head back to the world of outer expression and connection with others. Let it help you make time for yourself, your feelings, and your essential human and spiritual needs.

5 ~ The Sacrifice

To sacrifice means “to make sacred.” The sacrifice is an offering of gratitude made from the heart, a feast of loved prepared for Spirit. In olden days, sacrifices sometimes involved rituals in which blood was offered to the gods. In Middle America, Quetzalcoatl, the Lord of the Dawn, came to teach that Spirit preferred our songs and our prayers to the blood of human or animals.

What is the one person or thing you feel that you can not live without? It is time to offer it all to Spirit so that it may unfold, as it will. Do not cling to the old form or allow your sacrifice to weigh heavily upon you. You have sacrificed yourself and your dreams for far too long. Now is the time to rededicate yourself to your journey. When you “make sacred” you open the doors to infinite wealth. Do not delay!

6 ~ The Rattle

The Rattle is the Spirit-caller, carrying the shaman’s prayer to the four directions. The body of the Rattle is like the Earth spinning in its axis. With the aid of the Rattle, the medicine woman instills a desired destiny in her future, closing with the prayer, “Great Spirit, May your will be done!” The Rattle guides us to pray for all the Earth, not just for our personal needs. When we offer our prayers for the highest good of all, everything we need is provided for us.

You want to catch God on the whisper, not on the shout. What you are trying to craft to your own desires and expectations is already there, standing before you. Do not spin the world to your own benefit. You are being offered the Creator’s tools, which must be put to use to serve a divine purpose.

7 ~ Wounded Healer

Healing energy, vitality, and life force energy are flowing through you and to you. You are a healer, and you provide healing for others, even if you’re not conscious of it. Whatever needs healing in your life is being resolved. Your so called faults becoming your virtues. No matter what happened in your past, the past does not need to equal the future. It’s true; The cracks can be where the light enters the soul.

The wounded healer is a tradition in native cultures that asserts that some of the greatest healers are those who have gone through hardship and survived, or who have been wounded and healed. It’s believed that these individuals can provide great solace and can instigate profound healing for others. You may have been wounded in your life, Or you may have gone through challenging times, but the roots go deepest where the wind blows strongest. You are a healer in the most profound sense of the word. Healing energy is surging through you. Whatever in your life needs healing is being addressed on the inner realms. Your strength lies in the difficulties that you’ve overcome.

List each of your wounds or challenges from the past. Then next to each one, write down what came out of that situation that was of benefit. Additionally, repeat again and again, “I am a healer. . . and am healed. So be it.”

8 ~ Spirit Keeper of the South

Abundance and prosperity in all forms. Expansion. Surging energy. Activity. Movement. Rapid growth. Be open to receiving the bounty of the Universe.

In the medicine wheel, the south is the direction that symbolizes the warmth of the noonday sun, summertime, the full moon and a time of rapid growth. Crops grow with vigor during the summer months. In the human cycle, it also represents the vitality of childhood. This is your time to shine. It’s also a time of great bounty in all areas of your life. Open your arms to receive gifts from the Universe.

Stand facing south during the midday. Close your eyes and feel the warmth of the sun opening your heart center. Absorb the sunlight as you sense yourself absorbing the abundance of the Universe.

9 ~ Walking in Beauty

Radiant beauty surrounds you. You’re beautiful, inside and out. No matter what your age, your grace is growing. Being in balance. As you walk in beauty and feel gratitude for it, your life will be filled with immense splendor. Whenever you can, spend time in natural, wild spaces. As you see and hear and feel beauty around you, your own beauty will grow.

In Native American traditions, there’s the concept of walking in beauty. It’s called “hozho naasha” in the Navajo/Dineh tradition, and it means being in balance with a natural way of life. When we are in the “right relationship” with the natural world around us, we are walking in beauty. The more you sense and see beauty around you— in your environment, yourself, and your body— the more it will fill your life, in all forms. Never say anything about yourself or your body that’s negative. Don’t put down yourself or others. Instead, affirm beauty and take time to adorn your body and personal space. Walk in nature and inhale the beauty of every part of our wonderful planet. Cherish yourself and the luminescence within you, and you will glow.

Create outer harmony in your home environment, even in small ways— such as a vase of flowers, scented candle, or clean windows— and your inner grace and radiance will begin to shine even more brightly. Wherever you go, look for beauty in your surroundings, and as a result, the world will become more beautiful.

10 ~ Tracker

Focus your intent and your passion on one thing, rather than being scattered in different directions. Be single-minded in what’s truly important in your life, and let everything else go. Track the unseen (but very real) stream of energy to that which you desire.

Trackers have the ability to be so focused that everything but their goal disappears. What you see around you is the result of what you focus on. When you direct your thoughts toward good, you attract positive experiences and people into your life; but when you focus on what isn’t working, you create even more challenging situations. If you aren’t pleased with the direction of your life, concentrate on what you desire— not on what you don’t want. To develop inner power, focus intently on one thing. Being scattered in a myriad of directions dilutes your strength. Devote your attention to your family, community, career, relationships, hobbies, or anything you’re passionate about. Diminish activities that aren’t essential to your goals, and it will be just a matter of time before miracles begin to occur.

Write down how much time, on average, that you spend on different activities during the day. If there is anything nonessential (that doesn’t feed your soul), find ways to diminish it and focus on what’s truly important.

11 ~ Great Mystery

Have faith and know that you’re divinely guided. . . even when you have doubts. Trust that you’re exactly where you need to be. Believe! You’ve planted your seeds; now allow the Creator to do the c rest. Even if you can’t see into the future, have faith that the path will be illuminated and go forward. If you have an reoccurring challenges, turn them over to the Creator: Not my will, but thy will be done.

Many native cultures refer to the Creator as the Great Mystery. It’s the idea that Great Spirit is so vast and profound that, in many ways, it’s unknowable. Faith is the foundation of the ability to manifest. Everything was created because someone believed that it was possible. . . and patience is absolutely crucial in the application of this principle. Trust. Change can happen in a heartbeat, but somethings require time. You’ve planted the seeds; now give them time to grow. Please be patient, and know that it will happen— whatever receives your care and attention will flourish.

If you just planted some seeds in your garden today, you wouldn’t go out tomorrow and yell at them because there isn’t any fruit yet. So don’t dig up your seeds of faith! Remember this mantra: it’s happening! Repeat this phrase periodically, especially if you game doubts. . . and keep going.

12 ~ Stone People ~ Vigilance ~

Remain vigilant at this time, but not out of fear. “Vigilant” simply means opening up your mind and senses to information as it is presented to you: through your eyes , ears, physical sensations, and detached thoughts. It is especially true in two main areas. First, follow any guy feelings that may tell you to be wary about someone or something; second, pay close attention to an important opportunity that presents itself, one that may enhance your life and the lives of others. Maintain your vigilance of the clues around you and inside of you. Assess what is emanating from your body, and then sort out any conditioned responses from what is purely instinctual. Examine the situation with heart, intuition, and mind in harmony; for this is how vigilance serves you. Detach, take a breath, and stand tall in you stature.

13 ~ Volcano ~Volatility

This is a particularly volatile time for you. Unexpected changes, sometimes quite sudden and frantic are occurring in ways that you have absolutely no control over. These occurrences may be so powerful as to shake up what you formerly thought of as the foundations of your security. They may even cause you to reassess the direction your life is taking, to question some of your relationships, or to reevaluae the work you have chosen. Although these events may rock your world, know that Spirit is the guiding force behind them. It is a matter of finding your trust that Life knows what it is doing in the midst of these storms of change. It also requires you to make adjustments quickly and to not cling to what was, but instead move forward and welcome with your arms wide open what is yet to come, all from a place of being present in this moment. You truly have nothing to fear.

14 ~ Summer Solstice ~ Radiance ~

Let the radiance of the sun inspire your inner radiance to shine forth. Release your concerns about what may happen in the future, and focus on appreciating everything you have that is good and right. Allow Father Sun to take away your worries and cares. Do something physically active to stimulate your inner light. Dance. Sing. But most important, get outdoors. Do not let any negative thoughts or habits stop you. When you are in love with Life, you naturally radiate that love. During this part of your cycle, your capacity to love is greatly amplified. In one of those supreme ironies of Life, the more love you give, the more returns to you. It starts by allowing the radiant Being you truly are to be expressed to the world. Smile a little more. Notice the beauty of Nature. See the humor in the paradoxes of Life. Show your love, especially with those with whom you’re the closest. Then smile even more, and watch how the world around you lights up!

15 ~ Desert ~Vision Quest~

A “vision quest” is a process whereby you spend a few days in the wilderness alone. Typically, you carry only water and some sacred items with you, and you spend most of the time praying or meditating. Many who have completed a vision quest assert that it is a powerful and even life-changing experience, and report vivid and profound revaluations. It is said that “the desert does not lie,” so partaking in this can help you discover the truth about your purpose, or at least give you some clues. It is time for you to go on a Vision quest. Designate a place in nature in which to dwell, whether for a couple of hours or a few days. Spend the majority of your time while there meditating and praying. It is best to be in a location where you can truly find solitude, even if it is in a quiet corner of a park for the afternoon. This is one of the more powerful cards. When it comes to you, whatever other messages you may have received are amplified threefold.
