I switched out one of the decks I use to the Native Spirit one. It was calling to be heard.
There is so much going on in the cosmos right now. Venus is up there dancing in the realm of relationships, New Moon in Scorpio on the 28th, Mercury is going retrograde on the 31st, plus the veil in thinning and those are just some of the energies surrounding us as we prepare for the 2020 shift. This spread gives you guidance on your journey to that shift. What do you need to do to prepare?
Take a moment and take a deep breath. Let your intuition guide you. Choose a card from each row.
1-6 is what Spirit wants you to know.
7-11 is the supporting energy for your first card.
12-15 is an overall energy.
Leave your chosen cards in the comments below. You may be drawn to more than one card for a row, that’s fine. Feel free to share this post and tag a friend who may need some guidance as well.
I will give the messages later.
If you feel like the messages I give resonate deeply with you and you want to pay it forward, I’m going to leave my PayPal link below. If you would like to donate any amount, even $5, this helps me to be able to continue to do this for you all. I appreciate you all.
May you release what isn’t in alignment with your highest good and replace it with unlimited abundance.

1 ~ Flow
There is a natural movement of events in the world. You can see it in phenomena such as the tide, the ebb, and flow of oceans and rivers that rise up from the Earth and then flow to the sea. The symbol of Flow represents the effortless and natural movement toward a certain destination. It signifies an ability to gracefully move around obstacles and reminds you of the sense of allowing.
Don’t try to push against the river or swim upstream right now. You can trust that when the time is right, your dreams will begin to take shape, and you will be invited to dance with destiny. Right now, however, you must relax. This is not the time to bang on doors that refuse to open. Whatever obstacle is in front of you right now, trust this is for the highest good. It is an opportunity to regroup and reconsider your choices, and you must trust that your intentions will take form in good time. Consider this time a gift.
2 ~ Upper World
Angles, divine helpers, Ancient ones, and all varieties of luminous being populate the upper world. It’s the place where you go to retrieve your destiny, and find out who you will become, discover your great potentials, and undreamt of possibilities. It’s also the place where the spirits of the dead arrive when they complete their journey to the light.
Ask your divine helpers for guidance. You just deal with the lethargy and idleness. While support for a new destiny is not yet in place, a new distinction is available to you if you act now.
3 ~ The Witness
The Witness observes without engaging in any action. By cultivating inner stillness, we are able to assess any situation from a higher perspective and make better decisions. When we can be present for someone else’s difficulties with stillness, then we are able to truly hear them and give better advice. Sometimes we can be so still that we are a mirror for the other. Then, through our presence, they receive their own answers.
Acknowledge your perceptions, ideas, and feelings about the situation you are in, but resist the urge to change any of it. Do not fall back into your controlling patterns. Instead, take a few breaths, and connect with the joy of not having to perform. Hold space for the world to keep spinning on its own.
4 ~ The Curse
The Curse refers to the limiting stories of our ancestors, and the karma from former lifetimes that preordains the events of our lives. It is the source of negative patterns, and it can show up as a disease, a destructive force, or a blockage on our creative energy. The Curse holds us hostage to a false story that we confuse for reality. Recognizing the original wound that is playing out in our life can heal it.
Be aware of your actions. Act with impeccable intention so not to create debt or karma, that sooner or later, someone has to pay. What you do to others, you also do to yourself and to the people you love the most. Now you have the opportunity to clean it up.
5 ~ The Ghost Dancer
The Ghost Dancer of the American Plains Indians united the spirits of the living with those of the ancestors to bring peace to the world. When the ancestors are honored, they bring harmony to us. When we hold them responsible for all that is wrong with us today, they haunt us. Honor the spirits of the ancestors and receive the lessons and gifts. That includes honoring your own past lives.
The ancestors have a message of healing and a powerful medicine to offer you. Create a sacred moment at your altar, light a candle to them, and let their wisdom infuse you. St this stage in your life, you are done repeating their tragic stories. Step into the abundance that is offered to you, receive the gifts of those that have come before you, and write a new story for your life.
6 ~ The Beloved
The Beloved is the recognition of Spirit in another, and moving toward Spirit through the other. It is when the Divine appears to us in the form of our child, our partner, our friend, and we experience being in love. As we grow, we start to recognize the Beloved in everyone, not co fusing their personality with their divine nature.
Be careful with romantic love, the kind of love you “fall” in and out of. Own all the projections you have place upon the person you are dreaming of. Remember that they are only mirroring back your own deep longings rather than revealing their true selves. If you fail to notice this, be prepared to walk through the fire of strong emotions once again.
7 ~ Flowing River
Everything is falling into place because you aren’t revisiting the drift of the great river of life. It’s time to let go. You’re entering a period of gracious ease and flow. All is unfolding perfectly and with good timing. When you’re in a state of flow, you aren’t pushing the river to go faster, and you aren’t swimming against it. Let go of the shore and enjoy the ride.
Rivers have personalities and carry energy, just as animals and plants do. From the Maoris to the Australian Aborigines, and to other native cultures throughout the world, it’s believed that its important to listen to the language of the river. If you aren’t feeling the smooth currents of life, it might mean that you’re trying to control situations or that you’re being self-critical or judge-mental. The way to move into flow is through gratitude and appreciation, and by allowing others to support and help you. Heed the Native American saying, “It’s best to ride the horse the direction that it’s going.” This means that when the card Flowing River chooses you, you’re being told to let go and go with the flow. If there is something or someone you need to forgive, this is the time. This is also the time to forgive yourself and let go.
As you shower and the water flows over your body, imagine that everything is flowing in your life. Spend time next to a river or stream and watch the flowing waters; use it as a metaphor to let go and enter the flow.
8 ~ Ancestors
Wisdom is blossoming. Even if there are unsettling situations in your life, there’s a reason for it, and much good will occur as a result. Your ancestors are sending you incredible support to fulfill your dreams. Be aware of the coincidences, signs and synchronicities around you; watch for messages for your forebears. No matter what’s occurring on the surface of your life, your prayers are being answered in mysterious ways beyond your awareness.
There’s wisdom that dwells deep within your cells that’s a spiritual bequest from your ancestors. This wisdom has come not only from your forbears’ joyous, carefree times; it has also bloomed from their failures, deflated dreams, and seemingly wrong turns in life. Part of their message to you is to cherish every experience, for all of it will deepen your wisdom, compassions, and understanding, as it did theirs. Also know that there’s an innate wisdom within you… always. It’s simply a matter of turning within to access it. Native people always call on their ancestors for support- to ask for their help is to walk the native path. Sometimes you may be so focused on what’s outside you that you forget that wisdom is available to you from the spirit of your ancestors. Be willing to ask, for they want to support you.
Imagine that you’re traveling back in time to communicate and connect with a gathering of your ancestors. On this meditation journey, there might be one or two particular forebears who seem to reach out to you. (At different times in your life, different predecessors will be sending you support.) Give thanks for their support. The more gratitude you have for their help, the more they send you blessings and guidance.
9 ~ Song of the Wild
New horizons await you! You’re ready to savor the wonders of the world. Take some risks. Answer the call of the wild. Step out of your comfort zone. Live passionately. Take steps in the direction of freedom. Expand beyond your limitations and boundaries. Maybe it’s time to take a journey or do something new and exciting.
You are entering a period of expansion and going beyond your self-imposed limitations. Even if you feel hesitant, this is the time to try something new and do things in a different way. You might even visit far-off lands or wild natural places. Adventures often entails risk, but without it, life can become lackluster and stagnant. There’s a vast, new, and wondrous vista just around the corner, but you’ll never see it if you don’t venture out.
Plan a trip. Take some classes that get you out of your comfort zone. Try new styles. Do the same things that you’ve always done, but in new and different way. Push beyond your boundaries. Step out of character. Spend time in wilderness.
10 ~ Sacred Mountain
Be still, and take the time to move into the silent place within yourself. Locate your internal source of power. Meditate. Wait. Do not move forward until it feels right. Surrender to stillness. Do not take action. If you observe, rather than react, you claim your power.
From the vantage point of the sacred mountain, your power grows. In silence you’ll find your sacred witness. It is in the dwelling place of your soul. Move past the bustle and clatter of life into sweet quietude. If you’re in pain, don’t lash out; go into it until you find the source so that it can be healed. Resist the temptation to indulge in feelings of stress, urgency, and emergency. Your power is born in silence. This peace gives birth to your serenity. Seek solitude to listen to the voice of your higher self and awaken your inner wisdom.
Travel to the peaks of hallowed mountains, and if you can’t do this in person, travel in your meditation. Imagine yourself stop a high peak; you can see the world in all directions. Give thanks and offerings to mountains, wherever you encounter them. The Spirit of Mountain will deeply appreciate your gift.
11 ~ Peace Pipe
Heal old wounds with people or situations. Carefully do whatever you need to do to make amends. Forgive yourself and forgive others. It’s time. You no longer need to carry the burden. You are a mender. Help others mend bridges in their lives. You bring peace to the world.
In native traditions, sharing a peace pipe, filled with sacred tobacco and herbs, was a way of finding common ground and dropping discord. It was a respite in order to calmly asses a situation and find a peaceful resolve. There are times to drop everything and leave; there are also times to carefully mend bridges with people, situations, and places. This is one of those healing times. Maybe there is a wound inside of you that needs to be forgiven or accepted. Maybe you need to forgive yourself or forgive another. Transform the inner grievance. Do it now. You don’t need to forgive the act, but there’s power in forgiving the person. You no longer need to carry it with you. Perhaps there is a person from your past with whom you should reconnect. You know what you need to do. This is the time to do it.
Write down the answers to these questions: If there is an area of my life to which I need to bring peace, what might it be? What’s the first step I need to take toward resolving a rift with another or a feeling unfinished regarding a person or situation? Then take action.
12 ~ Dance ~ Celebration ~
The sacredness of any celebration is dependent on the quality of spirit that is present. The quality of spirit is greater to the degree that you are fully present, with minimal inhibitions about expressing your joy and happiness through physical movement. Focus on what you want to celebrate. Put on some music and dance, whether slow or fast. Sing a song while you do so. Make one up about what you have to celebrate. Spirit’s wish is for everyone to enjoy their time on Earth, and part of that wish is to celebrate your capacity to be joyous and express it through your body. Whether in private, or a large communal gathering, let music, song, and dance be a part of your sacred ceremony regardless of what you are celebrating. For truly, any celebration is sacred.
13 ~ Island ~ Solitude ~
You need to take some time for solitude, preferably in silence. Spend the morning, afternoon, or even the entire day by yourself, completely unplanned and unstructured. The bombardment of your senses by the noise and intensity of society leaves you on alert far more than necessary. The vibration of millions of people’s worry and fear through out the world can impinge you and greatly affect you if you do not honor your need to pull back from time to time. When you have passed through any self-constructed barriers to enjoying to quiet peace of solitude, it will serve you best of you simply observe the thoughts and emotions that pass through you, especially those that cause shortness of breath or a quickening heartbeat. Remember that isolation is experienced not by choice, but out of fear. When you decide to spend time with yourself in solitude, however, you are choosing to once again find and connect with who you really are.
14 ~ Ocean ~ Ebb and Flow ~
An important aspect in the art of living is to move with the ebb and flow of your emotions., joining their fluidity but not being captured by it. It is also not necessary to become obsessed with any particular fluctuation in mood or feeling. They are simply emotions, often activated in ways that are completely beyond your understanding. When you neither minimize nor exaggerate the intensity and importance of your emotions, you then have a great sense of when and how to express them. You have been fighting the ebb and flow of your own feelings— denying your hurt, anger, or sorrow— by either attaching yourself to one or the other and nurturing it as if it were a nursing child, or else smoothing your feelings over with what is going on beneath the surface of your expression. When you attempt to constrict yourself from experiencing your emotions, it is much like trying to stem the tides that grow even more forceful with every attempt humans make to control them. Allow yourself to swim with these variations rather then resisting them.
15 ~ Eagle ~ Communion
Whenever you experience a heartfelt communion with some physical expression of Life- plant, animal, human or anything else- it is only then that you can truly feel how your life force is similar to the life force that is all around you. It is only a matter of differences in form. An essence is articulated into the psychical world in a multitude of ways that is the same in everything and everyone, although it manifests in various shapes and characteristics. This essence is spirit emanating from the core of all things. Communion with Nature is essential for you now. Take some time to do an open-eyed meditation with any nearby animal or plant. Relax your body as much as possible, breathe consciously, and keep your attention on the life form you are communing with. After a few moments, you will notice a sense of the boundaries dissolving, a meddling of the “I” and “Thou.” You May even receive messages or impressions as you find yourself in the flow of unspoken communication.
